Certano and SL Alimentos Expand with Acquisition of General Mills Plant in Cambará
Cambará/PR – In a move set to boost the local economy and create new jobs, the Certano and SL Alimentos groups have announced the acquisition of the General Mills industrial plant located in Cambará, in northern Paraná, Brazil.
The facility, previously operated by General Mills, was deactivated in December 2023 as part of the multinational’s restructuring strategy in Brazil.
This acquisition reinforces the companies’ commitment to the State of Paraná, which hosts the main production units of both groups.
Certano Group, with over 50 years of history in Cambará, maintains its headquarters in the city and stands out in the manufacturing and distribution of food products, as well as cleaning and personal hygiene items. Its diverse portfolio includes special refined sugar, crystal sugar, and extra strong roasted and ground coffee.
SL Alimentos is currently the largest oat processing industry in Latin America. Operating in the states of Paraná, São Paulo, and Pernambuco, the company is a benchmark in solutions for human and animal nutrition. Its portfolio includes whole foods, plant-based and clean label products, with cutting-edge technology applied to healthy, sustainable, and indulgent lines, such as oats, protein cereals, pulses, flours, extruded products, baby food, proteins, and plant-based beverages.
With the acquisition, Certano and SL Alimentos accelerate their expansion and internationalization strategies, driving business growth, fostering job creation, and strengthening the economic development of Cambará and the entire region.
